Peter James Shaw ("PJ") joined Manchester Golf Club as a Caddie in 1953, later joining as a Junior Member with his younger brother, John in 1955.
Discovering Manchester Golf Club changed both their lives. Peter went on to win major Club Competitions over 6 decades, more recently winning the Seniors Trophy in 2001 and the Centenary Trophy in 2005.
Before Peter died from cancer on the 14th December 2008, he spoke with his brother John and niece Jennifer about holding a Golf Day in his name in order to raise money for Peter's chosen Charity, Springhill Hospice Rochdale.
Our host and Compere was Ken Davies - Springhill Hospice Trustee, and the audience was entertained by hilarious Comedian Norman Prince.
